The changing face of Higher Education

Higher education is changing – and changing quickly. The “typical” 18 year-old student who leaves home for 4 years to attend a university is not so typical anymore. Several factors include the economic downturn, an increase in those attending community colleges, an increase in students seeking certificates or associate degrees, and more adult students who attend classes part-time while working full-time might have come into play for this change . A good number of universities are now offering online courses, MOOCS etc and this would also have come as a change factor.. The Forecasting Higher Education Infographic represents the varied ways that higher education is changing and could change in the next few years. (Source http://www.onlinedegrees.org)
